365 Days of the Unoriginal, Day 18 is In UR Blog, Stealin UR Boyfriend

Since I went 6-stringed yesterday, I thought I’d go 6-stringed again today, this time with a more recent attempt at a song that I recorded specifically for the Challenge. Today’s offering is Dido’s “Mary’s in India,” a cheery little ditty that is TOTALLY NOT TRUE about stealing someone’s boyfriend while she’s on an extended trip to, well, you know. India. Like you do.

It’s kind of obnoxious, really, but not too terrible. Someday I’ll learn to play delicately instead of just pounding on that ol’ beater of a guitar I got. :) I recorded it using my H2 as an external mic to Garage Band. The video is all PhotoBooth, all the time, complete with Special Silly Effect, because if I must be yet another narcissistic dork filming herself for YouTube, I’m at least going to make it harder to watch interesting.

About L. M. Bernhardt

For a good long while (15 years or so), I taught philosophy at a little private university in northwest IA, and occasionally branched out into playing music, dabbling in photography, experimenting with food, and writing nonsense on my blog. The philosophy teaching part ended in 2017 (program elimination via prioritization), but never fear! I've just finished my MLIS at San Jose State University, and I'm currently on the market looking for new adventures in either philosophy or LIS. For now, I labor at a fairly interesting administrative job in order to support my dogs in the lavish manner to which they've become accustomed.
