365 DotU, Day 54 Wonders What Billy Vera Would Do At This Moment

Did I already mention the busy? I did? Good. Then I needn’t explain further. Also: kind of a bummer of a day, all of the sudden (although the maternal visit over the weekend was lovely, and we had a very good time). So today you get a one-take (well, OK, one complete take after 3 crappy ones where I stopped in the middle) acoustic cover of a classic by Billy Vera and the Beaters: At This Moment. I could natter on about the Family Ties episode and whatnot, but really, it’s just a neat song, and today for some reason I’m sort of feeling it.

A wiseass of my acquaintance has requested a Radiohead cover, which may get done this week. There’s also a request I’m working on for a Barenaked Ladies tune (one that requires me to pretend to know how to play something like the banjo — the metal tenor will make its 365 DotU debut!). I suppose now is as good a time as any to ask if anyone has any other requests for songs they’d like to see me spindle, fold, mutilate, and otherwise ruin. So — what do you want to hear me attempt?

About L. M. Bernhardt

For a good long while (15 years or so), I taught philosophy at a little private university in northwest IA, and occasionally branched out into playing music, dabbling in photography, experimenting with food, and writing nonsense on my blog. The philosophy teaching part ended in 2017 (program elimination via prioritization), but never fear! I've just finished my MLIS at San Jose State University, and I'm currently on the market looking for new adventures in either philosophy or LIS. Otherwise, I labor to support my dogs in the lavish manner to which they've become accustomed.
