365 DotU, Day 107 Has No Rival In Cheese

I have these little obsessions. You know this. I am goofily infatuated, for example, with the film Highlander (and the television series as well). The sequels can all go hang, as far as I’m concerned, but the first film and the TV series were just plain cool (in a schlocky sort of way).

What? Shut up. I don’t make fun of your little obsessions, do I?

OK, sure, I do, but not on the Internet, where just any dog could read them.

Aaaaanyway… I adore this stuff. I especially adore the music Queen did for the soundtrack. It’s schmaltzy and rocky and just straight-up over-the-top nonsense, and it’s gorgeous. I had to cover something from Highlander. It was a kind of spiritual call.

This is my answer to that call, in all of its absurd glory, as played on May 19th at a local venue.

I hope no one listening is/was lactose intolerant, because that there was some serious cheese, folks. I believe, on the plus side, that I can honestly claim to be the only person ever to sing this song at a  King’s Pointe gig on a Saturday night.

There can be only one.

About L. M. Bernhardt

For a good long while (15 years or so), I taught philosophy at a little private university in northwest IA, and occasionally branched out into playing music, dabbling in photography, experimenting with food, and writing nonsense on my blog. The philosophy teaching part ended in 2017 (program elimination via prioritization), but never fear! I've just finished my MLIS at San Jose State University, and I'm currently on the market looking for new adventures in either philosophy or LIS. For now, I labor at a fairly interesting administrative job in order to support my dogs in the lavish manner to which they've become accustomed.
