365 DotU, Day 129: Back Again From The Dead!

So, yeah — I seem to have gotten sidetracked. Who knew that it would be so difficult to find the time to record crappy covers of otherwise decent songs and post them on the internet?

Anyway, to celebrate the summer break, I’m breaking out the ukulele. The song is Tears for Fears’ Mad World, filtered through the cover arrangement that Gary Jules did for Donnie Darko. Why? Because I heard it on the TV (a promo for the new season of Burn Notice, I think) and remembered that I liked it. Whee! Also, it’s a pretty simple little song, and sits easy on the ukulele.

I think my version is a bit awkward, but it was easy enough to do! I’m baaaaaack…

About L. M. Bernhardt

For a good long while (15 years or so), I taught philosophy at a little private university in northwest IA, and occasionally branched out into playing music, dabbling in photography, experimenting with food, and writing nonsense on my blog. The philosophy teaching part ended in 2017 (program elimination via prioritization), but never fear! I've just finished my MLIS at San Jose State University, and I'm currently on the market looking for new adventures in either philosophy or LIS. For now, I labor at a fairly interesting administrative job in order to support my dogs in the lavish manner to which they've become accustomed.
