Brave New Bunny World

This blog has apparently faded into constant annual repetitions of the Dreadful Bunny Story*, a sad and static loop focused on a single moment in the past. The world, however, has moved on, and there are new horrors in it that demand our attention. The specter of AI-generated images and content now looms over the world, and in celebration of the nightmare that has befallen us all (the inflated LLM leaping out of the capitalist closet…), I have handed over the bulk of this year’s Tale Of The Horrible Prank Played On A Small Child to Google Gemini (image captions, however, are all me).

Hopping Down the Rabbit Hole: A Look at AI-Generated Easter Bunny Art

The Easter Bunny, a symbol of spring and joy, takes a peculiar turn in the realm of AI-generated art. We strayed from the cute and cuddly and explored a variety of artistic styles, resulting in some fascinating (and sometimes unsettling) interpretations of this iconic character.

Our journey began with a look at the past. We envisioned a giant Easter Bunny in a formal portrait, reminiscent of a vintage photograph, and a majestic ringmaster bunny leading a vintage circus poster. These images played on feelings of nostalgia and the fantastical elements often associated with circuses.

Taking a darker turn, we then delved into the horror genre. We imagined a black and white painting of a monstrous Easter Bunny lurking in a closet, and a chilling oil painting of a very disturbing giant Easter Bunny. These creations showcased the potential for AI to generate unsettling imagery, tapping into our primal fears.

Who knew Easter Bunnies could be such skilled fighters? We explored the world of anime with an image depicting a giant Easter Bunny locked in combat with three warrior chickens. This image highlighted the playful and action-packed aspects of AI art generation.

Finally, we returned to the realm of classic horror with a black and white movie still featuring a menacing zombie Easter Bunny. This image paid homage to the grainy films of yesteryear, while adding a unique twist to a familiar monster trope.

This exploration of AI-generated Easter Bunny art demonstrates the versatility and creativity of artificial intelligence. From heartwarming nostalgia to bloodcurdling horror, AI can conjure a surprising range of artistic styles and emotions. So next time you see an Easter Bunny, don’t be surprised if it sparks a creative spark of your own!

*The story, as it must be told: When I was a very small child, my parents hid a GIANT inflatable Easter Bunny in a coat closet. When I unexpectedly opened that closet in search of hidden Easter eggs, the horrid thingĀ jumped out and tackled meĀ (it had been wedged in tightly against the coats ā€” Dad was in a hurry). While my parents ā€” who are lovely people, please donā€™t get me wrong ā€” were naturally sympathetic to my horror and distress at being bum-rushed by a blow-up bunny, it was also undeniably the funniest thing they had seen all year. They reacted accordingly.

It didn’t look exactly like this, but it didn’t not look like this, if you catch my meaning.
